Made from 5mm neoprene these giant stubby coolers will keep your beer cold for an hour or two when out and about.
They include a shoulder strap to make carrying your mini keg super easy!
Put a handful of ice into the bottom and top to extend that. Or put your 2L down the bottom of a 4L sleeve and have room for some glasses and snacks on top (c:
Hi Andrew, I was told by the boys at liquorland newmarket that you would be the best guy to talk to about whether they would be able to fill an Ikeg. I am looking at either an insulated keg or growler. Second question is should I go flexi tap or pro tap (not a home brewer just a drinker). Thanks
Hi Micheal -
Thanks for getting in contact & good question. The filling station they have at Newmarket doesnt quite fit our insulated growlers due to the shape if the growler mouth and handle unfortunatly. The Insulated Kegs we have may also be too wide for their station but I have not tested this there yet. Our 2L and 4L standard kegs are all good for thier system however as they are skinnier. Any of our kegs can be filled at most other beer filleries (Fine Wine Delivery, Glengarry, All Brewery taps rooms eg, Hallertau, Liberty, Urbanaut, Garage Project Kingsland, Little Creatures Hobsonville, Mythica etc)
Re: Tap Type - We always recomend the pro tap system. It is more expensive but so much better as you can clip off the tap and reg at anytime for storage and the keg will stay pressurised and not leak. You can also control the exact pressure in the keg. The party tap unit you cant remove the tap or gas injector without the keg de-pressurising - you would need to keep it attached and pressuruised if you wanted to store any left over beer - which is totally fine if you have the room for it to stand up in a fridge.
Let us know or Give us a call if you have any other questions - happy to help.
Hi I would like 2 x 2L to take our brew to parties etc. What will I need to buy to have cool fresh beer this summer :-)
Hi Brenn -
I would recommend the brewers / pro tap model if you are already home brewing. With this model you can either put your homebrew in and pressurise / control the exact pressure with the mini reg to pour. You can also remove the tap and or regulator at any stage to store the pressurised keg. If you are already kegging you can transfer to this model under pressure to keep things fresh and oxygen out. Or if you are not kegging you can try out kegging on a mini scale and force carbonate your brew straight from the fermenter over night and with no sediment too (c: If you wanted you could get one brewers / pro tap kit and then any other size keg (with or without the ball lock top) and swap the taps / reg or whole top between them. https://www.ikegger.co.nz/products/2l-mini-kegging-system-beer-kegs-optional-draught-tap?variant=20258286789
the Party Tap option is still a good option - Just not quite as much control over the pressure in the keg and the top wont seal if you take the top or injector off. With a bit of practice the picnic tap work super well though.
Hi Andrew, I have few ikeggs(5L & 10L) in my inventory. I am planning to buy some nitrogen cylinders and use them in my existing kegs for cocktails. Is this possible? Or do I need to buy a new set for cocktail purpose? Cheers.
Hi Indika - Yes, You are all good to attach nitrogen to the ikeggers. Just get a nitrogen bottle + reg and attach a gas line with gas ball lock disconnect and you are ready to go. If you already have a bottle and reg then go for it, but if you dont, we have these in a kit with disposable pure Nitrogen bottles: https://www.ikegger.co.nz/collections/nitro-kits/products/nitrogen-2l-disposable-bottle These kits are about $200 and each disposable nitrogen bottle after that is $79. Each bottle would last about 60L. Your other option is to get a full size refillable 1 cubic meter bottle and nitrogen reg. This is more expensive up front but the bottle lasts for 5 times as long & you have a lot on the refills (about $40-$50) and you can then also do nitrogen/co2 mix gasses. The cost for this is around $469. Let us know if you want to go for this and we can organise a customer package for you.
Hi - Which option to I get to add into my existing kegerator so I can transfer the last few liters of beer from a corny keg into the ikegger mini keg so I then have an empty corny keg to keg up my next fermented brew?
Hi Nigel - The Brewers kit is the option you want rather than the flexi / picnic tap modle. Here is a link to that modle you would want: $250 for a 4L kit. The brewers kit has ball lock posts on the spear of the keg so you can clip it directly into your kegerator. Easy as!
Also - If you don't have a transfer line already you can get one here . Cheers & enjoy the kegging! Andrew
